The Happiest Hour – Dallas, TX

I took my first work trip since the pandemic.  As mentioned before traveling for business allows me to try new places in all corners of the country.  What made my first business trip a hit is it sent me back to Texas.  God does have a sense of humor. What made it cool is I drove all over Texas. In one day I was in Houston, San Antonio, Austin, New Braunfels, Waco, and Dallas. What worked out perfect is my best friend Ricky was also in Dallas for business.  He is another great person to travel with because he finds all the great restaurants. He picked out a place downtown called The Happiest Hour. It was recommended for a weekend brunch but the name means it had to have a great happy hour.

We were there on a Tuesday night and it was busy.  The outside area was closed for a private event.  The inside brought a lot of different vibes. There were plenty of windows to feel open and bring in natural light. There was a nice size lounge area. It held it’s namesake. The happy hour was happenin’! We were surrounded by different groups. A small table of guys just hanging out.  We talked to another group playing a drinking game next to us. They were there to celebrate their company’s achievement. I truly believe it would a regular happy hour spot of I lived in Dallas.

They had a nice variety of cocktails. I stuck with my Old-Fashioned Tour. They had a Jones’in For An Old Fashioned. It was strong! Definitely on the bitter side. It made for a better sipping drink then some Old Fashioneds. I believe that is because they used Old Forester Rye.

As for food they had a great half priced happy hour appetizer menu. We ordered fried pickles, Loaded Cheddar Fries, Dumpwings, and Pepperoni Flatbread. We didn’t come close to finishing everything. The portions were great. My least favorite item was the Pepperoni Flatbread. It wasn’t because it wasn’t good. It was just your typical flatbread. They nailed the pickles, fries and dumpwings.  I was surprised as how much I enjoyed the dumpwings. They’re dumplings and I just do not really like dumplings.  They sauce they paired with it was perfectly sweet. What I needed after driving all day long was fries and pickles. They are my comfort food for sure! They fries were large, thick, spiral cut. It would have been better if they spread the toppings out over all the fries. They only do that with the cheddar sauce. They pickles were perfectly crispy. When you would bite it they coating did not fall off. They ranch they provided reminded me of a homemade ranch. Overall, it was a great stop. It fit the happy hour vibe. It was the perfect place to decompress and relax.

  1. Hello! I realize this is sort of off-topic
but I had to ask. Does operating a well-established website like yours require a large amount of work?
I am brand new to operating a blog however I do write in my journal on a daily
basis. I’d like to start a blog so I can easily share my personal experience and thoughts online.
Please let me know if you have any kind of ideas or tips for new aspiring bloggers.
    Thankyou!

    1. Hello Gary!

It does require a significant amount of work in the beginning. Using WordPress is highly recommended. As you use the software, you will realize it is getting easier. My advice would be to map out a plan so that you are consistent with your goal of a website. Please feel free to ask questions.
